Pre-planning services we offer include: assessment in advance of land purchase; standard archaeological impact assessment reports to support planning applications or form part of Environmental Impact Statements; BH3 type reports to inform planning decisions; advising on design solutions to archaeological issues identified by the assessment.
The team are experienced in ongoing planning applications, including the production of statements of case; rebuttals and appearances as expert witnesses at public inquires, appeals, hearings and scheduled monument consent enquires.
In the post-planning phases of projects we can produce reports to meet archaeological planning conditions; our familiarity with the processes involved in gaining approval of mitigation strategies by the NIEA and archaeological excavation licences required to implement mitigation stands us in good stead here. Our in-house fieldwork team allows us to move without delay from desktop assessment to the execution of mitigation measures such as monitoring or excavation in the field.
We believe we provide the most comprehensive archaeological impact assessment product available using all realistically accessible sources of data. Where there are specialist issues we benefit from long-standing working relationships with the leading local experts.
We have provided assessments and consultancy services for a wide range of projects of all a scales including: housing developments; bypasses; road dualling schemes; pipeline projects; sewerage & waterworks projects; powerline projects; wind farms; quarry extensions; bridge works; sports grounds; golf courses; sea defences; hospital projects; school projects; commercial & leisure developments. These sites have ranged from remote greenfield locations to sites located in the heart of towns and cities.
